BIGGEST Single-Day Spike! Odisha reports nearly 2500 fresh COVID-19 cases

Bhubaneswar: Odisha today recorded an all-time-high in COVID-19 cases as 2496  more persons tested positive for deadly Coronavirus in the last  24 hours . With this, the state’s total count rose to 57, 126, informed the Government.

While 1591 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres, remaining 905 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.

The fresh cases have been reported from 29 districts with Khordha registering highest 378 cases followed by Ganjam (327) and Balasore (165). Besides, nine districts have reported over 100 cases today.

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 17,535. However, 39,205 patients have recovered in the state so far.
