BIGGEST Spike! Bhubaneswar reports 370 COVID-19 cases; tally crosses 6,000-mark

Bhubaneswar: Capital city Bhubaneswar today witnessed an all-time-high of 370 COVID-19 cases taking its total count to 6077, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).  Khordha district today reported 466 cases.

Of the 370 cases,  204  were under quarantine and remaining 166 are local contacts.

As per the data shared by the urban body, as many as 14 persons, including a 10-year-old girl from Vani Vihar Pathara Bandha have tested positive for the virus. Besides, eight persons from Reserve Police Colony and five employees of a private hospital here have been infected with the disease. All the patients were under quarantine having link with earlier positive cases.

Besides, seven quarantine cases have travel history to West Bengal, Bangalore, Srinagar, Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam and Ranchi.

The 166 local contact cases, include 10 cases from Saheed Nagar and five cases each from Patia, Sikharchandi Vihar in Patia , Unit-9 and  Prasanti Vihar Basti.

Curently, Bhubaneswar has 2201 active cases. While 3840 patients have recovered, 30 succumbed to the virus so far.
