Bhubaneswar: As many as 4330 fresh COVID-19 cases, highest single-day spike so far, have been detected in Odisha in the the last 24 hours taking the state’s total tally to 179880 .
Of the total fresh cases detected from 30 districts, 2556 have been reported from different quarantine centres while remaining 1774 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said Information and Public Relation (I & PR ) Department.
Khordha recorded highest 644 fresh cases followed by Cuttack (549) and Puri (292).

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 37469. However, 1,41,657 patients have recovered in the state so far.
It is pertinent to mention here that total 51,154 number of samples were tested in the state in the last 24 hours. So far 2766976 tests have been conducted in the state.
