Bijepur by-poll: 129 polling booths categorised as sensitive, informs Odisha CEO

Bhubaneswar: As many as 129 polling booths have been categorised as sensitive out of 285 total booths in Bijepur, informed Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sushil Lohani today. The booths have been set up at 243 places for the by-poll scheduled to be held on October 21.

Speaking to mediapersons, Lohani said arrangements have been made to undertake webcasting at 28 polling booths whereas CCTVs will be installed at 14 booths.

The CEO further said as campaigning for the by-poll ended today leaders visiting Bijepur were asked to leave the Assembly constituency by 5 pm today.

A total of 2,32,264 voters will decide the fate of five poll candidates during the by-poll. Voters can produce 11 documents including Voter ID card to support their identity and cast votes during the by-election. Special arrangements have been made for Divyang voters, added the CEO.

Votes will be counted on October 24.
