Bijoy Mohapatra meets followers, seeks support for son Arabinda ahead of General Elections 2024

Kendrapara: Senior BJP leader, four times MLA from Patkura Assembly constituency seat of Kendrapara, and former Minister in Biju Patnaik Cabinet, Bijoy Mohapatra met his followers in Nischintakoili in the legislative segment yesterday seeking support for his son Arabinda, who is to join active politics.

Media is abuzz these days that Arabinda is likely to join BJD and contest from Patkura on the ruling party ticket in the upcoming General Elections.

According to a source, Bijoy held an informal meeting with his followers in a private Kalyan Mandap at Nischintakoili Bazaar under Derabisi block in the district. The leader discussed the political activities of his son in the days ahead. The veteran leader also sought the support and cooperation of them.

“My son (Arabinda) is to contest elections this time, you all please support him,” Bijoy appealed.

In reply, the followers who participated in the informal meeting expressed their solidarity and assured the former Minister that they were with him and would remain with him till his last.

Besides, several followers from around seven panchayats under Marshaghai block and 18 panchayats under Garadpur block are likely to meet the senior leader tomorrow at his residence in Talakusuma locality, acting on an invitation of the former Patkura MLA.
