Will Matriculation exam fee be waived?

Bhubaneswar: Citing the difficulties of students and parents due to pandemic situation, the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD), the students’ wing of ruling BJD, today sought Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s intervention for waiver of Matriculation exam fee.

In a letter, BCJD State President Debi Ranjan Tripathy requested the Chief Minister for a consideration to waive Matriculation exam fee of Rs 420. Tripathy wrote most of the Class 10 students are not in a position to pay the fee while filling up the form to appear in Matriculation examination this year due to the pandemic situation.

If the State government waives the exam fee, all the students, parents and economically weaker sections will be benefitted, the letter read.

The Matriculation exam conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha is scheduled to begin from May 3 this year.
