Bike-borne looters on prowl in Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: Two loot incidents were reported in different parts of the Odisha Capital today afternoon.

At around 4:30 PM, a woman riding an automatic scooter was going towards Sainik School from Acharya VIhar. In the meantime, two bike-borne miscreants on a motorcycle came from behind. They snatched the woman’s gold chain near Apollo Hospital and fled the spot.

In the scuffle the woman lost control over her vehicle and fell down on the road. She sustained injuries and has been admitted to a hospital. Later the loot victim lodged a complaint at Saheed Nagar police station.

In another incident, two bike borne miscreants looted Rs 1.12 lakh at gun point from a collection agent of a finance company near Chanahat Chhak under Balipatna police limits. The miscreants fled the spot after looting the cash at around 5 PM, said the collection agent.

Based on a complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.
