Bike-borne miscreants abduct garment trader’s granddaughter at Odisha’s Deogarh

Bhubaneswar: Two bike-borne miscreants allegedly abducted the six-year-old granddaughter of a garment trader at Deogarh town in Odisha today.

The incident took place while the girl, an LKG student of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, was returning home after attending private tuition in the evening.

The abducted girl is the granddaughter of Gopal Agrawal, a well-known garments trader and owner of ‘Bhai Bhai’ cloth store at Deogarh, sources said.

“The girl was on her way to home after attending the tuition in the evening. Suddenly, two miscreants appeared in the scene on a Pulsar bike and abducted the girl in front of her grandmother. They vanished from the spot immediately. The incident took place near Agrawal’s residence,” said a local.

The Miscreants sped away on Ranchi-Vijayawada highway, said a few eyewitnesses.

The girl’s family has lodged a complaint in this regard with police.

“We have sealed all entry and exit points at Deogarh and are making all efforts to trace the girl as well as the abductors. All incoming and outgoing vehicles are being searched thoroughly,” said a police officer.
