Police have successfully busted a bike theft racket involved in stealing of bikes of different makes from Odisha’s industrial town-Jharsuguda and its vicinity.
Police have arrested racket’s mastermind Rajib Patel and four of his accomplices-Somnath Thakur, Naresh Singh Chandel, Mangal Bhoi and Babulal Chhatriya on Saturday. It has recovered as many as 36 stolen bikes from them, police said.
According to the police, Patel used to run his racket from his in-law's place at Lahandabuda and provide fake documents to the buyers of the stolen bikes after generating them from his laptop.
The racket was busted by the police following its investigations based on a complaint of bike theft lodged with it last week, police said.
