Biplab’s fighting innings goes in vain as Assam beat Odisha

Biplab Samantaray’s fighting knock of 50 went in vain as Assam beat Odisha in the East Zone Twenty20 League for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at the Eden Gardens today.

Electing to bat first, Odisha started the innings miserably losing early wickets. Biplab Samantary’s 50 of 44 balls helped Odisha to put up 143/7 on board. Odisha lost two early wickets in the form of Paresh Patel (1) and Anurag Sarangi (0). The captain played sensibly scoring his half century with his partner Subhransu Senapati (23).

In reply to this, Assam reached the total with nine balls to spare. Pallavkumar Das’ 51 steered Assam to record a win by six wickets.
