Bizarre! Youths impersonating as Pakistan Maoists held in Odisha

Binika: Impersonating as ‘Maoists from Pakistan’ inside a bus and threatening the passengers proved costly for two persons as the duo was thrashed and handed over to police in Odisha’s Sonepur district yesterday evening.

According to reports, the two accused, hailing from Tamil Nadu, boarded a state transport bus in Bargarh. While the vehicle was heading towards Bhubaneswar on Sonepur-Binika road near Phulamuthi in the district, they allegedly raised pro-Pakistan and anti-national slogans, and identified themselves as Maoists from Pakistan.

The two also manhandled and threatened the passengers besides misbehaving with women present inside the bus.

The passengers then retaliated unitedly by thrashing the duo black and blue. On being informed, police reached the spot, rescued the two and detained them after providing primary treatment at Binika hospital.

Investigation into the matter is underway and appropriate action will be taken, police said.
