Bizman shot dead in broad daylight in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: A businessman was allegedly gunned down over ‘money matters’ in Odisha’s Cuttack on Sunday afternoon, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Dilip Sahu.

The incident took place at Kothasahi near Pithapur under Purighat police station in the district.

Though the exact reason behind the firing is yet to be known, sources said the man was targeted over money matters.

According to police, one Ajit Jena opened fire at Dilip after a heated argument between the two over some monetary issues. Ajit had borrowed money from Dilip.

Sahu sustained 2 gunshot injuries in chest and abdomen areas and died on the spot.

Meanwhile, Cuttack DCP Akhileswar Singh and a scientific team rushed to the spot to begin inquiry.

The accused and his family members are now absconding, police said.
