BJD Council Meet: Naveen focuses on good governance, seeks suggestions

Bhubaneswar:  Addressing the State Council Meeting of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) held here, party Supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today sought significant suggestions from each council member for strengthening of the party and good governance.

Addressing the  members, Patnaik said  he will go through each suggestion and all the good ones would be implemented.

Hailing a proposal of party Mayurbhanj district committee, the CM said, “I am happy to see the recommendation for renaming of North Odisha University as Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University. Our Government will approve the suggestion. I want the district committees to be proactive. The Government and the party will take your suggestions seriously.”

Besides, Patnaik suggested all the ministers to visit and interact with district functionaries and act on their constructive suggestions.

On the occasion, the council members from 33 organizational districts submitted various suggestions, including focus on new voters, ensuring various developmental projects reach out to people, strengthening of party at grassroots level, appointment of Observers for 36 Zilla Parishad zones of Kalahandi and preparations for the upcoming Panchayat elections, women empowerment, irrigation and systemization of COVID-19 vaccination.

The council members also suggested strict action against leaders involved in anti-party activities.
