BJD seeks ban on Dharmendra Pradhan’s poll campaigning

Bhubaneswar: Alleging violation of Model Code of Conduct by Union Minister and BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today demanded an one-week ban on him for poll campaigning.

In a petition filed with Odisha Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Surendra Kumar, the BJD has alleged that Pradhan campaigned for BJP at a polling booth after casting his vote today.

“He (Dharmendra Pradhan) has campaigned for his party by providing a media byte which has been telecasted. Campaigning for his political party at a polling booth is a flagrant violation of the Model Code of Conduct,” the BJD said in the petition.

The conch party demanded strict action against Pradhan and sought a ban on him for one week for election campaigning.
