BJD wins G Udayagiri NAC Chairperson bypoll

Bhubaneswar: Registering yet another victory in election, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today won the bypoll for the post of G Udayagiri Notified Area Council (NAC) Chairperson.

While BJD got 3111 votes, BJP secured 756 votes and 614 votes were polled in the favour of Congress.

BJD candidate Debasmita Satpathy emerged victorious with a margin of 2355 votes.

Around 55% out of the total 8155 voters had exercised their franchise in the bypoll held on Wednesday.

The voting was held at 13 booths from 8 am to 5 pm.

The BJD also registered victory in elections for the posts of Chikiti NAC Ward No. 3 Councilor, Jagatsinghpur Municipality Ward No. 6 Councilor and Joda Municipality Ward No. 8 Councilor.
