BJD’s Champua MLA candidate Sanatan Mahakud garlanded with shoes

Keonjhar: A villager reportedly garlanded BJD’s Champua MLA candidate Sanatan Mahakud with shoes on Tuesday evening when the leader was carrying out poll campaigning in a locality in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.

As per reports, Mahakud had gone to Mirigisingha village in Champua assembly constituency with his supports to seek votes from the locals.

While his election campaigning was underway, a villager approached him and garlanded him with shoes.

Mahakud’s supporters immediately removed the garland of shoes and nabbed the villager. He then left the village.

Reports said Mahakud, who was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly from the constituency in 2014 by contesting as an independent candidate, had promised the locals of various developmental activities in the area. As he allegedly didn’t fulfil the promises, some of the locals were opposing his visit to the village.
