Sambalpur, Feb 20:
Terming the incidents of poll-related violence during the ensuing three-tier panchayat polls in the state as a blemished chapter in the history of Odisha, the BJP today threw an open challenge to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to order for a judicial probe into the incidents.
BJP national secretary Suresh Pujari dared the BJD to face judicial probe while claiming that his party was ready to face the probe.
“Let Naveen Babu get the violent incidents during the panchayat elections probed by a sitting judge with the permission of the Supreme Court within a stipulated time period. Then people of Odisha shall come to know clearly who is criminal and who is not,” stated Pujari addressing a press meet here today.
“In the panchayat polls officers have worked for the BJD. Higher rank officers are directing subordinate officers for this. We have proof of messages sent through WhatsApp in this connection. The BJP has submitted these with the State Election Commission (SEC). Examination of these WhatsApp messages and call record details of these officers and the Collector will clarify on their role,” the BJP national secretary pointed out.
