A day after an FIR was registered against actor-turned-politician Tatwa Prakash Satapathy aka Papu Pom Pom, BJP Mahila Morcha today demanded his arrest within 12 hours and threatened to intensify agitation across Odisha if police fails to put him behind bars.
The members of BJP Mahila Morcha today approached the Mahila Police here and demanded immediate arrest of the actor who is embroiled in a controversy over casting couch allegations involving a minor girl.
“We demand immediate arrest of Papu Pom Pom for his involvement in casting couch. We will launch state-wide agitation if he is not arrested within 12 hours,” BJP leader Lekhashri Samantsinghar said.
On the other hand, Twin City Commissioner YB Khurania today said that Papu Pom Pom and his associate Pradipta Swain alias Gitu will be served notices to depose before the police.
Notably, the Mahila Police yesterday registered an FIR against Papu Pom Pom and his associate Pradipta Swain alias Gitu under Section 354 (A), 506, 509 and 34 of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.

This comes after Child Welfare Committee (CWC) member Nirupama Rath conducted an inquiry into the incident and had visited the minor victim’s house. Based on her report, the FIR has been filed by the Mahila Police.
