BJP leader Ganeshi Lal named new Odisha Governor

Bhubaneswar: BJP leader Professor Ganeshi Lal has been appointed as the new Governor of Odisha.

According to a communique issued by the Rashtrapati Bhawan Prof Ganeshi Lal will take over as the new Governor of Odisha.

The post had fallen vacant in March this year after Governor S C Jamir had completed his tenure. Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik was having additional charge of Odisha since March 21 after Governor Jamir completed his tenure.

“The President of India has been pleased to appoint Prof Ganeshi Lal to be the Governor of Odisha with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office,” the communique said.

Prof Lal is a former president of BJP’s Haryana State unit. He had also served as the Food Supplies Minister of Haryana.

Prof Lal was the national president of the BJP’s Disciplinary Committee.
