Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today announced its candidate for Jeypore Assembly seat in Odisha.
The party has fielded Goutam Samantray from Jeypore Assembly seat in Koraput district for 2024 Assembly polls in the state.
The Congress party had earlier nominated sitting MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati to fight the polls once again from Jeypore.
The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha has given ticket to Indira Nanda, wife of former minister Rabi Nanda, to contest the polls from Jeypore Assembly seat.
Samantray had unsuccessfully contested the 2019 Assembly polls on a BJP ticket from Jeypore.
The BJP had earlier announced its candidates for 131 Assembly seats in Odisha in two phases.
Notably, the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha will be held in four phases on May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1.
The counting of votes will be done on June 4.
