Bhubaneswar: Rajya Sabha MP and BJD Spokesperson Dr Sasmit Patra today came down heavily on Odisha BJP In-charge D Purandeswari for alleging inaction of the state Government over the murder of BJP leader Kulamani Baral and his associate in Mahanga of Cuttack district.
Briefing the mediapersons, Sasmit Patra said it seems Purandareswari is unaware that the accused in the murder case were arrested within 48 hours along with the main accused.
"She is also probably unaware that BJD Government has Zero Tolerance towards violence and has always taken strictest action against the culprits, for which people of Odisha have been blessing the regional party for five successive terms in Government," he said.
Patra added, "strictest action is being taken in this case also and the victims will surely get justice. The BJD Government is committed to it."
Earlier in the day, Purandeswari also questioned the state Government as to why the Law Minister has not been arrested even though he has been named in the FIR of the double murder case.
“I urge Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to open his eyes and ears to watch and hear what is happening in the state,” she said targeting the Government alleging rise in crimes in the state.
