Bhubaneswar: Putting all speculations to rest over the possibility of BJP-BJD alliance, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced that the party will fight the elections solo to form the government in Odisha.
Refuting the BJP-BJD alliance talks, Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal informed that the party will fight the 2024 elections alone and form the government in Odisha.
"The BJP will form the government in Odisha. We will fight the polls with the support of people and their blessings," Samal said today.
He said that the BJP has taken a vow to form the government in Odisha, clearing the air over the possibility of BJP-BJD alliance.
"We will fight the polls. The BJP will form the government for the first time in Odisha and the third time at the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he told reporters.
He said that discussion in this regard has been held with all senior leaders of the party. The party's election committee meeting will be held tomorrow afternoon to review all the seats and the final report will be sent to the central committee parliament party.
Last week, Samal had denied the BJD-BJP alliance talks stating “no such topic had been discussed at party meeting in New Delhi”.
Even the BJP’s Odisha election in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar claimed that there was no alliance talk with BJD in Delhi.
However, the suspense still continued over the possible alliance between the BJD and BJP in Odisha.
Recently, Odisha Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik had said ‘rumour’ and ‘lies’ are the worst elements in politics. He made this remark during a conversation with 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman VK Pandian. The video of Pandian speaking to Patnaik went viral on Saturday.
