In retaliation against the attack on Union Minister Santosh Gangwar’s convoy in Odisha’s Bargarh on June 24, BJP workers today showed black flags to Odisha Tourism Minister Ashok Panda and Biju Janata Dal Bhubaneswar north MLA Priyadarshi Mishra who were in Mumbai to attend an event.
According to sources, the members of BJP Mumbai Odia Cell were involved in the incident. Led by its president Srikant Padhi, the general secretary, vice president and other functionaries were also part of the demonstration.
Both leaders were in Mumbai to attend a function organised to mark the birth centenary of Biju Patnaik, former Chief Minister of Odisha and the man BJD was named after. While School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra had been scheduled to attend the programme, his tour was cancelled in the last moment for reasons unknown.
