Puri: A married woman has accused a police ASI of raping her at his residence in Pipili area of Odisha's Puri district.

As per a complaint lodged by the victim with Pipili SDPO this evening, Balanga police station ASI Chittaranjan Das took the woman to his residence on the pretext of resolving a family dispute.

However, the police official allegedly raped the woman. The victim has filed a written complaint in this regard with the SDPO and investigation is underway.

Following the complaint, the ASI was detained for interrogation in connection with the case.
