Blot on khaki: Policeman arrested for molesting minor girl in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) was arrested last night for allegedly molesting an 11-year-old girl at Chandradeipur village under Salepur police limits in Odisha’s Cuttack district.

A case has been registered against accused Krushna Chandra Jena, Badambadi police station ASI, under sections 34, 354, 506 of IPC and POCSO Act.

As per an FIR lodged by the victim’s mother with Salepur police, they were staying at Jena’s house at Chandradeipur on rent for the last 5 years.

The ASI visited the house on March 3 while the girl was alone and molested her, she alleged in the FIR.

The victim, who studies in Class-VI, revealed the matter to her mother following which she lodged a written complaint with police.

Acting on the complaint, the Salepur police started investigation registering a case and arrested Jena from his residence last night.
