Boat ambulance service launched in Odisha’s Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Boat ambulance service was today launched in the Swabhiman Anchal of Odisha’s Malkangiri district. Two boat ambulances have been operationalised to facilitate emergency medical care for people living in cut-off areas.

Collector Yeddula Vijay inaugurated the service in the presence of other officials of the district administration.

The boat ambulance service will benefit more than 20,000 residents of over 40 villages in the area having no road communication. It has been decided to station one boat ambulance at Arapadar and another one at Kuntarpadar.

The boat ambulances have been connected with the 108 Ambulance Service that can be availed by dialing the emergency number. The ambulances are also fitted with GPS devices.
