Boat capsize in Brahmani: Two bodies recovered, one missing

Dhenkanal: Bodies of two persons were recovered from Brahmani river in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district today, couple of days after a boat capsized in the waterbody.

One of the deceased has been identified as Ramesh Sahu of Roda village in the district. The body was found floating in the river at Panigengutia ghat under Parjang police limits this morning. It was later fished out of the river. Similarly, another body was recovered at the ghat later in the day.

Yesterday, body of Biswajit Acharya of Kundandeipur village was recovered from the river. One more person was still missing, till last reports came in.

A country boat ferrying nine persons had overturned midway in the river on September 7 night near Khadagprasad. Five persons managed to swim and reach the shore.
