Boat capsize in Brahmani: Body recovered, 3 missing

Dhenkanal: In a significant development in the Brahmani river boat capsize incident, body of a person was recovered from a ghat of the river in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district, today.

The deceased has been identified as Biswajit Acharya of Kundandeipur village. The body was found floating in the river at Panigengutia ghat under Parjang police limits this morning. It was later fished out of the river.

On the other hand, three persons– Ramesh Sahu, Sushant Sahu and Lulu Sahu— were still missing, till last reports came in. Fire personnel and ODRAF team have been engaged to trace them.

A country boat ferrying nine persons had overturned midway in the river on September 7 night near Khadagprasad. Five persons managed to swim and reach the shore.
