Boat carrying Union Cabinet Minister Rupala, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra stranded in Odisha’s Chilika

Satapada: A boat in which the Union Cabinet Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Parshottam Rupala was travelling got stranded this evening in the midst of Chilika lake in Odisha.

According to a source, Minister Rupala and BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra were travelling together in the boat, who were on their way back to Satapada in Puri district.

The Union Cabinet Minister and Patra were returning from Barkul via Chilika and proceeding to Satapada when their boat lost direction due to dense got in the lagoon and later got stranded for more than the last two hours near Nalabana in Chilika lake.

They had to attend the Sagar Parikrama programme in Arakhakuda village under Krushnaprasad block in Puri district, the source expressed.

On being informed about the mishap, two more boats were immediately sent to bring them back safely. The duo is being brought ashore with the help of two other boats. However, they had not reached the shore till the time when this report was filed.
