Body of missing boy found after two days in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack, Jan 27:

After two days of disappearance of a young boy, police today recovered the body floating in Mahanadi river in Odisha’s Cuttack.

The deceased identified as Nisith Mohanty was missing since January 25 morning. Nisith, a Class XI student of DAV Public School in CDA area, had gone to attend tuition in Pithapur on that day.

However, he didn’t return home after attending tuition class following which his parents lodged a missing complaint with Badambadi police station.

Locals spotted the body floating in the river near Hadia patha. Later, it was fished out and sent for post-mortem.

It appears to be a case of suicide as police found his school bag having the school ID card near the river bank.

Police are investigating into the case.

The deceased is the son of one Nihar Ranjan Mohanty from CDA Sector-6 area in the city.
