Body of missing VSSUT student Chinmayee found in power channel

Burla: Body of missing Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) student Chinmayee Priyadarshini Sahu was found in power channel here in Odisha’s Sambalpur district, today.

Fire Services personnel traced the body during the search and rescue operation, which had commenced last night.

Chinmayee had gone missing after jumping into the power channel, last night.

According to reports, she had come to VSSUT from Madanpur Rampur in Kalahandi district to receive her educational certificate on the occasion of convocation ceremony, yesterday.

Later, she went to the power channel bridge with one of her friends. Shockingly, she jumped into the power channel from the bridge and went missing.

On being informed, police and Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and initiated a search operation to trace her.

Police have questioned her friend in connection with the incident. Her friend told the cops that Chinmayee was under mental stress due to family dispute and might have taken the extreme step of ending her life by jumping into the power channel, reports said.
