Jaleswar: The body of a tourist from neighbouring West Bengal was fished out from the water early today morning. He had gone missing since yesterday afternoon while taking a bath in the sea at Talasari-Udaypur beach under Bhograi block in Balasore district.

Identity of the deceased youth has not been ascertained yet, a senior cop of Talasari PS said.

According to a source, the youth along with three others had come to the beach for sightseeing. The mishap occurred and they went missing while taking a bath in the sea. They were swept away deep into the water. However, three of them were later rescued by some locals after a frantic search. The young tourist could not be saved and he met with his watery grave.

On being informed, Talasari police reached the spot and seized the body. Police have sent the body to a nearby hospital for post-mortem and launched a probe into the untimely death.

Family members of the deceased have arrived Jaleswar town and the youth’s body will be handed over to the bereaved family after the inquest is over, the senior cop informed.
