Bhubaneswar, June 22:

Odisha government will take steps to strike out names of bogus ration card holders in the coming days ,  Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare minister Sanjay Dasburma informed the Odisha Assembly on Saturday.SANJAYA-DAS-BARMA

Refuting allegations that the government had not implemented the Justice Wadhwa Committee report, minister Dasburma said the government had abolished sub-wholesaler system on the basis of the recommendations of the Committee.

The minister made the statements while replying to a question by ruling party MLA from Athgarh Ranendra Pratap Swain during the Question Hour.

Swain had alleged that beneficiaries were not getting wheat and kerosene through their ration cards.

Swain wanted to know why the government was not taking any action to implement the Justice Wadhwa Committee report in the state,  which had recommended that the names of all fake ration card holders be struck off from the list of beneficiaries.

Participating in the discussion, Nimapara MLA Samir Das alleged that the district administration was not following the recommendations of the Justice Wadhwa Committee report and demanded powers to appoint and cancel licence of retailers be given to the block level committees.
