Bhubaneswar: Bollywood beauty Prachi Desai is set to walk the ramp at India Fashion Week London (IFWL) next month wearing Odisha designer’s creation.
Sweta Parekh known for her fashion house Dolliz Kasba has created special pattachitra designs on designer dresses which will be exhibited in London.
Eminent actor Prachi Desai will wear Sweta’s creations during the show and will be the showstopper at the event. Sweta had earned many praises during Bhubaneswar Fashion Week for experimenting with pattachitra designs on fabrics.
“At least 10 varieties of apparel with designs of peacock feather on Matka silk have been prepared. This apart, the traditional pattachitra painting on western gown, saree, kurti, ghagra, choli, men’s shirt, and sherwani have been beautifully done to give an Indo-Western feel. The pattachitra art will not only go global, but also let the world audience about Odisha’s rich heritage and culture,” Sweta said.

The Bhubaneswar-based designer had employed six artists from heritage crafts village Raghurajpur for this purpose.
The designer also revealed that her label ‘Dolly Parekh’ has been changed to ‘Sweta Parekh’.
The event organized by Platinum Group will be held at Olympia London, Hammersmith Road from November 11. People from British Asian community and UK witness the annual event.
Season three of India Fashion Week London will be held from November 9 to 12. The celebration of Indian fashion will involve fringe events across London, from VIP jewellery launch events to well-known authors on Indian fashion hosting seminars on the various styles and trends seen on the catwalks. The main catwalk event and exhibition will take place at Olympia London from November 11 to 12.
