Bollywood singer Nikhita Gandhi, Rapper Big Deal steal the show at Patha Utsav in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: Around 15,000 people, mainly youngsters, thronged Patha Utsav (street festival) that was organized on the Janpath from Ram Mandir Square to Master Canteen Square in Odisha capital here today.

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) held the street festival for the first time since the Men’s Hockey World Cup in Odisha in January this year.

The street festival commenced early in the morning and continued till 9.30 am.

Bollywood playback singer Nikhita Gandhi, Rapper Big Deal, the Prince Dance Group and Odissi dancers enthralled the audience with their power-packed performances at the street festival.

Moreover, events like flower exhibition, Yoga, Zumba, skating, Nukkad and cycling were organized in the Patha Utsav.

The civic authorities also made special arrangements to entertain the children.

“A few stalls were also opened at the street festival to create awareness on sanitation and other civic issues among the people,” said an official of the BMC.

The BMC had earlier announced that it would organize Patha Utsav in three zones of the city on three Sundays in December this year and January next year.

Notably, the BMC had introduced Patha Utsav in the city here in 2016 to make people aware of various social and civic issues.

However, the street festival was discontinued due to Covid-19 pandemic and some other reasons. The civic authorities organized the street festival for a few times during the Men’s Hockey World Cup in Odisha in January this year.
