Cuttack: A crude bomb was hurled at Kasarda police outpost in Niali area of Odisha's Cuttack district in the wee hours of Friday.

The incident took place around 3 am when a person hurled the bomb towards the police outpost. However, the bomb hit a tree and exploded.

Niali police have detained a person namely Purna Chandra Parida in this connection for questioning. The reason behind the hurling of the bomb was yet to be ascertained.
