Bhubaneswar: Suspended Assistant Engineer Kishore Rout today surrendered before Twin City Commissionerate of Police in Odisha capital subsequently leading to his arrest who was booked after flyover collapse in Odisha capital two days ago.
Rout surrendered before DCP Satyabrata Bhoi after which he was taken into custody. Besides, project manager Vipul Chakraborty has also been arrested today in this connection. With this, the number of arrests in the case has risen to four.
Speaking to Kanak News, Rout said: “Action should be taken against the guilty. I have no fault. The matter should be investigated thoroughly. The mishap took place when I had gone for lunch.”
Worth mentioning, one person was killed and around 15 others were injured when a portion of an under construction road over bridge (ROB) at Bomikhal caved in.
While experts had blamed faulty shuttering behind the mishap, police had booked two engineers, three directors of Panda Infra Projects Pvt Ltd and others.
One of the directors of Panda Infra Projects Pvt Ltd Pratap Panda, who had surrendered yesterday, will be forwarded to court today.
