Book on Odisha’s sprint queen Dutee Chand soon

Bhubaneswar: Here’s good news for fans and followers of sprint queen Dutee Chand, as a book on her will be published soon in India.

Country’s leading publisher Westland Publications Private Limited is going to publish the book on Dutee revealing her life story and struggle she went through to reach the feat.

Dutee stunned everyone with her outstanding performance in 100m and 200m sprint at Asian Games 2018 held in Jakarta. She bagged two silver medals for the country in both the categories of sprint creating a record in history.

The upcoming book written by renowned sports journalist and writer Sandeep Mishra will unfold entire episodes of Dutee’s life, her journey as the sprinter, her fight after she landed in hyperandrogenism controversy, achievements and historic victory in recently concluded Asiad 2018.

“Dutee’s life is an example for everyone. The Asian Games from which she was deprived of taking part four years ago, won two silvers for India in the game held this year after fighting for justice and return to the track,” said Westland’s CEO Gautam Padmanabhan.

Writer Sandeep Mishra has finely incorporated the athlete’s hope, patience, hard work and success story in the book, he added.

Notably, Author Sandeep Mishra has created a special place for him in hockey journalism. He has vast work experience in sports being associated with a number of national media. He is best known for his book ‘Forgive Me Amma’ written on Hockey legendary Dhanraj Pillay.
