Boy critical in mishap during Diwali celebrations in Odisha’s Nuapada

Bhubaneswar: A 12-year-old boy sustained critical injuries in a mishap while bursting firecrackers on the occasion of Diwali in Odisha’s Nuapada district today.

The incident took place at Bhela village under Komna police limits in Nuapada at around 6 pm, sources said.

“The boy was bursting crackers by putting them in a steel glass. Due to the explosion, the steel glass hit the boy causing deep injuries on his head,” said a villager.

The boy was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in a critical condition, he added.
