BPUT reschedules examinations in view of Cyclone ‘FANI’

Rourkela: Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) has postponed the timetable of semester examinations today due to the impending Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘FANI’ in Odisha.

Earlier, the exam dates slated to be held on May 2, May 3 and May 4, which have been correspondingly shifted to May 25, May 27 and May 28 as per a notice issued by the order of the Vice Chancellor.

These examinations were to be held in 164 colleges of BPUT.

Examinations of Utkal University scheduled for the same dates were cancelled earlier today.

As per the forecast by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) of the United States Navy, Cyclonic Storm FANI would cross near Balukhanda in Puri on May 3 afternoon. The wind speed before landfall would be about 175 kmph and pass through Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack (Niali), Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts before going to West Bengal.
