Brahma Paribartan fiasco: Four servitors submit replies

Puri: Four out of 11 servitors, who were served show-cause notice in connection with the Brahma Paribartan fiasco during Nabakalebara of Lord Jagannath in 2015, have submitted their replies, said Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Chief Administrator Pradipta Mohapatra here today.

Speaking to mediapersons, Mohapatra said four servitors have submitted their replies on the issue. However, the temple managing committee has decided not to make the report public since it is sensitive issue.

The report will be examined and action will be taken accordingly, he added.

It may be mentioned here , the SJTA had served notice to 10 Daitapatis and 1 Biswakarma Maharana after a three-member sub-committee reviewed the final report submitted by the then SJTA Chief Suresh Chandra Mahapatra in September this year.

On June 16, 2015, the Brahma Paribartan (soul transfer) ritual during Nabakalebara was delayed allegedly due to infighting among the servitors. The incident had created much hue and cry in the state.
