Brahma Paribartan fiasco: Report sought from former SJTA chief within three weeks

Puri: Sri Mandir Managing Committee at its meeting here today decided to ask former Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Chief Administrator Suresh Chandra Mohapatra to submit the inquiry report on ‘Brahma Paribartan’ fiasco within three weeks.

“The Brahma Paribartan issue also came up for discussion at today’s meeting. The Managing Committee at today’s meeting decided to request former SJTA Chief Administrator to submit the report within next three weeks,” said

After it’s available, it will be reviewed by the Managing Committee, he added.

Jena said that it is only the former Chief Administrator who can tell why he hasn’t submitted the report.

That apart, the Managing Committee meeting chaired by Puri King Gajapati Maharaj Dibya Singha Deb decided to grant Rs 5 lakh for construction of a temple at the place from where the daaru (the log out of which the idol of Lord Sudarshan has been carved out) was collected.

The Committee also decided to grant a 15 decimal plot of land belonging to the temple administration in Delang area for construction of a school.

Besides, a decision to translate portions of the Skanda Purana highlighting the glory of Lord Jagannath and Purushottam Kshetra to Hindi was taken at the meeting. For the purpose, a four-member committee headed by Tirupati Sanskrit University Vice Chancellor Dr Hare Krushna Satpathy will be formed.
