Bhubaneswar: In a huge surge in COVID-19 cases in Odisha, as many as 24 more persons from Ganjam district tested positive for the virus taking the tally to 270, official sources said this evening.
All of them have been identified as Surat returnees. With this, the number of active cases in the state stood at 205 while 63 patients have recovered so far. Ganjam district surpassed Jajpur district in number of positive cases as 71 cases have been reported from Ganjam so far, sources said.
Meanwhile, a truck driver of Mumbai met with a road accident in Odisha and was admitted to AIIMS-Bhubaneswar. He later tested positive for COVID-19. The case will be counted in the state of Maharashtra, sources added.
