Bhubaneswar: As many as 5 more COVID-19 patients died in Odisha, official sources said today. While three of them died due to COVID-19, two succumbed to other health issues.

Those who died due to COVID-19 have been identified as a 65-year-old man of Ganjam district who was also suffering from diabetes, a 72-year-old man of Bhubaneswar, and an 86-year-old man of Ganjam district who was also suffering from chronic hypertension, the Health Department said.

On the other hand, the COVID-19 patients who died due to other health complications have been identified as a 72-year-old man of Ganjam district who passed away due to severe traumatic brain injury, and a 52-year-old man of Khordha district who passed away due to coronary artery disease with left ventricular dysfunction, the department said.

With this, COVID toll in Odisha mounted to 77 while 24 COVID-19 patients have died of other health problems till date.

Odisha today also reported 618 fresh COVID-19 cases.
