BREAKING: Ganjam-Khordha border sealed

Bhubaneswar: In a major decision amid COVID-19 outbreak, Ganjam-Khordha border was today sealed to prevent movement of persons between the two districts, informed Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange.

No person will be allowed to travel to Bhubaneswar from Ganjam, the official said and urged the people of the district to cooperate.

The Collector had yesterday announced shutdown in all urban areas of the district for five days from July 9 to July 13 to break the chain of the coronavirus transmission.

During the shutdown,  door-to-door health screening will be conducted in all NACs, Hinjilicut Municipality, all block headquarters and Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) areas.

However, health, goods and agriculture services will remain unaffected during the shutdown.

In a related development,  Outpatient Department (OPD) of MKCG Medical College and Hospital at Berhampur in Ganjam was today sealed for COVID-19 containment.
