BREAKING | Shutdown announced in Cuttack city till July 8

Cuttack: Following detection of huge number of COVID-19 cases in Cuttack city, the authorities today announced shutdown in entire areas under Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) jurisdiction till July 8.

Exercising the power conferred under Section 10(2)(1) of the Disaster Management Act 2005, the CMC Commissioner ordered to shutdown the entire jurisdiction of the CMC till midnight of July 8 after reviewing the current COVID crisis in the city.

The shutdown order will come into force with immediate effect after weekend shutdown.

As per the shutdown restrictions, all non-essential travel will be strictly prohibited. All the non-essential shops and commercial establishments will remain shut.

However, healthcare services and essential medicine shops will be allowed to open regular hours. The emergency services including electricity and water supply will remain unhindered during the shutdown.

The essential shops including grocery, vegetables and milk shops will be allowed to open from 5.00 AM to 6.00 PM with proper maintenance of social distancing norms.

The CMC allowed online delivery of all essential items.
