Brother of murder accused killed in firing in Odisha’s Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: A youth was killed when two unidentified bike borne miscreants allegedly fired at him at an eatery in main bazaar of Brajrajnagar of Jharsuguda district this evening.

The deceased, identified as Mantu Ghose was standing at the eatery’s counter. Two miscreants riding a bike came there at around 8.30 PM and pulled out a gun. Eyewitnesses said the attackers fired two shots at Ghose due to which he died on the spot. After firing upon him, the miscreants immediately fled the spot.

Ghose was the brother of Sonu Ghose, an accused in Amit Dhal murder case and is currently lodged in jail.

After receiving information, police reached the spot and started an investigation. They also seized the CCTV footage. Involvement of a mafia in the murder case cannot be ruled out, said a police official.
