Bhubaneswar: As part of its anti-drug drive, the Commissionerate Police arrested two drug peddlers in Nayapalli and Airfiled police station areas here today.
As per reports, the Nayapalli police arrested one Prashant Rout and seized 11.30 grams brown sugar, a scooter and a mobile phone from his possession. Similarly, the Airfield police nabbed one Suryakant Parida and recovered 1.4 kg ganja and Rs 7,850 cash from him. The accused were later produced before court, sources said.
In a separate incident, one Gyana Ranjan Sahu, an auto-driver of Unit-I area here, was attacked by his friend with a brick after the latter refused to bring liquor last night.
As per a complaint lodged at Kharvel Nagar police station, Sanjay Rout, a resident of Unit-III area, hit Gyana’s head with a brick after the latter refused to bring more liquor last evening. While Gyana was admitted to Capital Hospital, the accused has been arrested.
