Brown sugar seized in Bhubaneswar; two arrested

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police along with a quick action team (QAT) conducted a raid in Infocity area here and arrested two drug peddlers last evening.

The cops also seized 18 grams brown sugar and Rs 3200 cash from their possession.

Sources said the two accused identified as Rashmi Ranjan Das (24) and Sukant Das (23) of Naugaon in Jagatsinghpur were staying in Nageswar slum at Sishu Vihar here. Both were running a betel shop on Patia-Infocity road.

Police said they got information that youth from various educational institutions in the locality used to visit his betel shop to buy brown sugar and cigarettes containing Marijuana. Acting on the tip-off, the cops raided his shop and recovered the narcotic item yesterday.
