Brown sugar seized from Odisha capital, three arrested

Twin City Commissionerate police today forwarded to court three persons arrested from Odisha capital for possessing brown sugar, police said.

Acting on a tip off Laxmisagar police arrested these persons from Haladipadia basti in Jharpada locality yesterday night and seized 30 gm brown sugar from their possession, police added.

Police said the arrested have been identified as Sanjay Mohanty (30), Biswajeet Bepari (35) and Benudhar Dash (40). They hail from Khordha, Nayagarh and Bhadrak districts respectively, it added.

While 11 gm of the contraband was seized from Biswajeet’s possession, 10 gm was seized from Benudhar and 9 gm from Sanjay, police sources said.
